AV has become infested...........

with afkr's and bots. The afkrs are bad enough but at least you can report them and make them inactive. The botters are a different kettle of fish altogether. It's almost funny seeing toons sitting at the alliance keep gy casting recall, auto mount, etc while the horde is overwhelming the few defenders trying to keep the gy.

No it's not funny, it's frustrating to me to see so many honor leeches farming honor from those of us earning it.

This weekend I even saw two different toons from the same guild/server running bot programs.

I didn't use to bother, but rest assured now that when I see a toon running a bot program I report them to blizzard support. It's against the terms of agreement and I sincerely wish that they would do something serious about this problem. Deleting the offenders toon or stripping them of all gear and honor would be a nice start.

I truly wish blizzard would take the time to put some GM's into the bgs to how serious this problem is becoming.|||Reporting bots is always a good idea. I've reported coutless Chinese Hunters in Aszhara. Once in a while they do a big ban, you never know if they used your information, but I guess it's hard for them to find bots if they aren't reported.|||Oh well, if it's any consolation to you Qrystal, rest assured in the knowledge that by having massive amounts of bots and afk-farmers in the game... you won't even need to report them as they won't be getting any honour anyway.|||i think the bot program should do something clever like run to the nearest tower, so you at least have 5 or 6 guys chillin in the tower and the opposite faction will be too scared to send one guy up at it. then i wouldnt be too irritated by it|||lol, or try and take over the mines. Always a drudgery those.|||Speaking of which - how do you take a mine in AV? I always hear people telling druids or rogues to take the mines but why does it require stealth? Isn't there a flag or something to take, like for graveyards and towers?|||Quote:

You kill a named NPC in the middle of the mine. Stealth classes can ignore the 200 NPCs before them and just nuke that NPC down. Once the named is dead, your side's forces come in and start clearing out the mine.|||Quote:

Ahh, I see. Okay - thanks.|||Quote:

Actually what I found is that when you kill the named mob, your faction NPC-s spawn but they have quite low health and there are nor so many of them. They clear a small area around the named mob, but the rest of the mine is still full of kobols. I don't know how helpful that is for your faction - the mine shows "controlled by <your faction>" still you have just a few NPC of your faction in it, plus the ones that spawn at the entrance.|||Quote:

Depends a bit... if people hand in armour scraps (or whatever the horde equivalent is), the NPCs get upgraded to a higher level. Initially they start around around the same level as the kobolds/troggs. The 'trains' tend to clear out the rest of the mine eventually though. But seeing how AV these days generally doesn't last all that long, the only important thing is that you cap them for the bonus honour at the end.

I suppose the extra reinforcements might've added up ... if the games lasted long enough for them to add more than, say, 15 reinforcements total.
