How Horde can dominate AV

I am surprised to find that on many US battlegroups, Horde still struggle to win in Alterac Valley. Many of the players in those groups believe the Horde have some kind of "map disadvantage" that dooms them to defeat. A quarter to half of their AV players may be afk or botted.

That's the first thing you have to do, is persuade your side they can win.

Then do this.

Send everybody to IBGY.

Take 15 or so from there to capture SH bunker, then SHGY, then IW bunker.

The rest at IBGY should confront the Alliance thrust wherever it is. The real noobs will go straight to Galv. It's pretty easy to wipe them there.

Other times Alliance will try to ride straight through to FWGY, or TP, even to FWGY. It's easy to string them out and wipe them.

If Alliance amass at IBGY, defend as long as possible. Some of the IBGY respawns can head north, if things go well. If they don't it should be easy to form a formidable defense at FWGY.

Once the Horde own IW bunker and SHGY, part of the forward group can kill Balinda. If enough are forward, cap SFGY and you'll choke off most of the Alliance north of IW bunker.

Defense should focus on harassing Alliance at FWGY and south, or defending towers if the Alliance are putting up a truly pathetic effort. If Alliance make it through to FW hut, there will always be an opportunity to retake FWGY.

Up north, while the bulk of the group pushes for SPGY, rogues and druids should try to capture the DB bunkers. When the flags are activated, some of your team may be able to push through and assist.

All this activity should have the Alliance in serious resource trouble, and the push to Stormpike aid station and Vann may even be unnecessary.

If this goes right, you can leave the Alliance side with 60 to zero bonus honor.|||Man that sounds nice. If only people would listen, at all, on my server. Trying to organize anyone in AV is like trying to get a class of high school seniors to calm down when there is no threat of consequences.|||Quote:

and that is exactly what we want, yes ? no bonus honor...

i suggest you all rush and we alliance all rush aswell. that way the game is over faster and we get 400 to 500 bonus honor.|||Quote:

Correct.

What you said will indeed get horde to dominate AV till 2.4 hits live (which is why I think that AV poll by maticus was a waste of space), but the end result will be far lower honour/hr on both factions. Since that's what people go to AV for, in the end noone will be happy about one side completely dominating the other.|||I don't do AV for honor, I do it for marks. Other BGs offer far better honor/hour ratios in our battlegroup (at least, for the Horde).|||i could play 1,000 AVS and as Alliance we wouldnt win more than 100 games.Khaz Gorath server Bloodlust BG.

I just grind out 20 AV marks on a BG grind day and suck it up.it sucks.BUT WSG and Basin is usually 60/40 us.|||Quote:

this does not make sence at all. in fact i dont know why people even defend in AV at all. Both sides should just zerg the towers and once all towers and garnisons are capped should zerg the endboos, may the faster win.

the way it is now, horde starts defending IB, alliance starts defending their base, and it is a 45 minutes + game which is decided on supplies ( by kills, not by objectives ) and gives less than 100 bonus honor at best.

that is just stupid.

stop whining about which side is favored by the map layout, rush, get honor, repeat. that s what AV is for.|||That strat is exactly what happens on my battlegroup and we (alliance) lose SO much it hurts. we used to dominate all the time. Funny thing is, this is AV weekend and I played last night and alliance won EVERY game I played (and that was a lot) both sides zerged, the battle was over in 10 minutes and both sides got 400+ honor (horde 400 alliance 500)|||Quote:

First you say it doesn't make sense, then you go on to agree with me

Which is it ?|||Quote:

Not for me. For me AV is for fun and I have fun winning. I understand what you are saying, but it grinds my soul to dust to have the mentality of "oh, just rush.... who cares who wins as long as we get honor"
