I got my Pally to 70 a month ago, I still have green gear (and a couple of blues) and about 5000 honor points.
In other words, i suck.
Since I am Alliance, I double suck.
First off, Alliance people are just nasty to each other ... they don't help each other, they snipe at each other in chat, the b-tch and moan about how we all suck and how we always lose, but never give do anything to improve things.
Is horde the same? I don't think so, because I always see them play as a team.
So, in the past month (which I spent in the Battlegrounds) i made notes of what I think are the strong points of the Horde:
Alliance go around as individuals trying to get kills, the Horde ...
1 - the Horde always travels in packs. They never go alone ... they are always in groups of 3-4 people.
2 - the Horde have a lot of healers, and their healers really know how to do their job. They hide, they keep out of the fight and they just heal non stop. They make themselves hard to find and they really manage their healing priorities.
3 - the Horde always attacks the healers first. The Horde always defends their healers first.
4 - when the Horde attacks a position, they don't send 2 people, then 2 more people in a minute or two, then one more after a couple of minutes, then 2 more ... etc. etc. They don't attack in a "trickle" the attack in one massive group. They load up 7-8 people (and a couple of healers to boot) and they come at you like a ton of bricks, all at once.
5 - the horde is never happy to just sit somewhere. they are always attacking, rarely defending. They don't defend their positions, they leave 1 or two people in a place, then they organize a main group and assault an alliance spot. If they lose a position ... they just take it back. They traumatize the Alliance in a defensive stance. The Alliance becomes so paranoid about losing their positions, they just sit there ... which means that the battlefield belongs to the Horde and they can go wherever they want while the Alliance is prisoner of their own defenses.
The horde have their priorities straight. They know that winning the game is more important than individual achievements. they know that if they do things right, if they win the game, they get more honor and more marks. They care more about the team than the individual. They would be very happy to win a game without killing a single alliance member if they could. They care about the results not the kills. But ... given how disorganized we are in the Alliance, they don't mind killing us, since we make it so easy for them.
These are my 2c as an Alliance beginner. Hopefully we can organize some good groups in the Alliance to counter all that (in all fairness I have seen the Alliance kick ass when we get good people in the group and we play as a team) ... but it doesn't happen often.|||Transfer to Black Dragonflight or Mal'ganis server. Look for their pvp guilds. They are vicious good.
What server/battlegroup you are in makes all the difference.|||Alliance suck period.
For The Horde!|||Quote:

Realm: Hyjal/Battlegroup: Whirlwind (I think) ...
But I am ok with staying where I am ... in fact, it makes it all the more challenging and interesting.
I really would like the chance to organize a group of good Alliance fighters ... good to the point that when they see us the Horde says "OMG ... it's THEM!"
Jokes aside, the Alliance in the "world" where I am at, sucks but has potential. We organized a "pre-made" yesterday (never heard of it before yesterday) with mostly people from my guild and a couple of outsiders and we really kicked butt (well, no not really, but we won ... it was a hard fight and the Horde really gave us hell but we still won. It was a close call though).
That was a FUN fight. I would have had fun even if we had lost. We fought at the mines (in the Arathi Basin) for almost 5 minutes ... evenly matched ... it was like 7-8 on each side and it felt like the battle would never end. Our group leader made a point to go after their healers and once we got their healers (they defended them tooth and nail) they were done for ... but it took us a LONG time. I had time to cast my hammer of justice 7 times before the battle was over ... that's a LONG time. Never happened I could cast it as much in the same fight.|||Those are the good fights...Had the VERY frustrating experience yesterday to run into PvP guild premades 10x in a row (not exaggerating, this was in both EotS and AB). Nothing you can do agaisnt those really.
Later, ran into an AV (freaking 1.25-1.75hour wait times) premade, but we bloodied their noses but good and still nabbed almost 200 honor. Took them 20- 25 min to get that win.|||Sorry but people that post things like "Why Alliance Sucks" are part of the reason people feel that it sucks. Which it doesn't.
It's no different on the horde side. I'm currently leveling a horde lock, it's the same crap . . . there are good groups and bad groups within PUG BG's the faction doesn't matter. The funny thing is that sooo many bad alliance players are rerolling because they think they will win just by rolling horde - awesome for us - bye bye bad pvpers . lol
Depending on the bracket - the number of twinks, class breakdown, and the amount of healers is generally what decides the outcome of these battles IMO, heck even a low level healer can change the tide of battle if there were none before.
Just try getting some premades together, I run them with my guild usually once a week on my main and have yet to loose a match.
Also, try varying your BG play times, I used to do BG's earlier on some days or on the weekend and found that in my battlegroup there are so many idiots playing early (I'm guessing uninformed kids?) that waiting till after 11pm will net me a ton more wins.|||Quote:

Didn't really mean the "Alliance sucks" literally ... I meant it to be a bit "sarcastic" ... a snipe at those people that complain all the time in the battleground chat.
There's a lot of Alliance people that say that "everyone here sucks, we always suck, we are going to lose", etc etc.. They get boring after a while.
I think the term is "defeatist". I believe there were stiff penalties in the Old Days for defeatists ... in Stalin's Russia a defeatist would have been sent to a gulag to shovel potatoes out of the frozen ground in Siberia. In the US Mr Hoover would have probably slammed the poor sucker in an FBI cell and left him there to rot for 20 years.
Seriously, Alliance gets beaten badly very often (in most games I have been in in fact) except for few exceptions.
Yesterday I played in the Arathi Basin 10 times. We won 2 lost 8 ... badly.
One of them was the pre-made we started at my guild.
The other .. there were 4 Champions of the Naaru in our team (one of them a Holy Pally! yay!) and they just outclassed everyone. People (on our side) were just following them everywhere just to stay close to them (counting on getting some free kills I suppose) and what that did is that we had this group of 9-10 alliance people roaming around the Arathi basin bases and pretty much flattening anything in the way (I didn't get any kill at all and very little honor ... I just followed and got the credit for the game ... by the time I got off the horse everything was over).
PS: I have no freaking clue what Champions of the Naaru means but people started saying "holy ####! there's 4 Champions of the Naaru here!" ... then I saw that that means ... they kick butt.
So ... it's possible to win ... it's just the attitude, and making sure to play in an organized team. Then you have a game.|||I have noticed very similar trends in PvP. I have a retired 70 Gnome Warlock and a 70 Troll Priest. On my Warlock, I'm *damn* lucky if I get a single heal all match. On my Priest, I heal myself and heal others - and get heals in return. Good healing is a massive advantage in a battleground.
Our Battlegroup is interesting, however - Horde *do not* play AV well and have no answer for the Alliance Relief Hut rush simply because they're too aggressive and have no use for D in their minds.
So Alliance has a free 550 Honor BG they go to, and win within 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, queues for all other BGs are at about 5-10 minutes because Alliance don't queue for them. Why would theY? Needless to say, after a few months of this, the average Alliance person significantly outgears the average Horde as they earn honor about 250% faster. So, gear is beginning to finally trump their own stupidity. I only win slightly more ABs/EOTS/WSGs than I lose, and I never step foot into AV because that's a 19/20 lose rate for Reckoning Horde.|||And yet they are seriously punishing the horde with the upcoming 2.4 changes.
Amazing that I get stuck with a 1.5 hour avg AV wait time because "Alliance cannot win AV no matter what" mentality on my battlegroup.|||Quote:

This would be awesome lol
Some kind of in-game torture chamber for the "defeatists" . . . maybe it could be a small room (like a cell) where you could do nothing with you character and you could not turn your sound off while Celine Dion blared out of your speakers.
