Question about honor marks and points.

[:1]Forgive my lack of knowledge on this one but Im trying to make sense of the rewards you can get from BG's. For example;

High Warlord's Recurve

Does this item cost 15,300 honor points AND 40 AB marks? It that what I am reading?? Thanks and sorry for the newb question.

Edited by Lothaer: changed the link to wowdigger.|||yes it costs 15300 Honor Points and 40 AB Mark.|||Thanks, Just making sure. Wow that will take awhile to earn.. lol|||why would u want a lvl 60 item?|||Quote:

Why not? Is the easy answer. The OP is fairly new to the game and at 60 some of those PvP rewards are rather good. A year or more ago my Dwarf hunter got the gun at 60 and my damage went up noticeably. Not everyone steam rollers themselves to 70 or 80. Admittedly most do and I see them idling in Org/SW/Dalaran looking for PuG's.

Slight derail there, but you get my point I hope.|||The PvP gear you can get at 60, and 70 for that matter, was good at that time. There's not much point collecting it now as you will get gear that's just as good a few levels later. The amount of time it takes to get the honor and marks for that gear could be spent on leveling instead.

The gap between people in raid/high end PvP gear and others before the Burning Crusade was huge and something they tried to even out. This means that the relative quality of the gear you get once you move to outlands will be a lot higher. This isn't the case to the same extent when moving from Outlands to Northrend, but it's still not worthwhile to stay behind to try to collect the epics.|||If you are spending the time getting marks and honor then it would appear that you are not rushing to a few levels later. Some enjoy PVP <I'm not one of em>. Maybe being best at your current level is what someone is looking to go for.

If you start BGs at 29 by the time you get to 60 you should have an abundance of marks/honor.

If you do BGs just to complete quest along the way then you will be short.

There's ALWAYS better gear a few levels ahead.

I don't say that to slam you, Cerebus, but to point out that there are different play styles out there. Why continue to BG for a piece of gear instead of leveling? Maybe the player enjoys BG; maybe the player wants better gear to make leveling easier.

Another example is the gear available from quartermasters in Northrend. Why bother to grind rep for a piece of gear that requires revered or exalted? After all, at 80 I can run heroic instances where the bosses drop better gear. The answers can vary, but for me it's this: The gear is better than I have now and I'm working on the achievement that requires exalted anyway.

Although it may seem that everyone enjoys racing to the end game, some do enjoy a leisurely journey to the end.|||The level 60 pvp gear isn't worth the cost at all. It gives no resil and you can buy/find greens much cheaper and much better in BC.

If you want to get something at the lower levels spend your honor on a trinket or get the epic ram mount with AV marks.|||Quote:

Another person who thinks there is nothing but max level? This attitude annoys me. Seems for some people the "only" way is just get to 80 as fast as possible and then play this game and ignore everything in between. Some people actually don't play that way.

It may be hard for some people to understand that for some reason but this rush to 80 mentality disturbs me.

As for cheaper? It's probably only time that *costs* more in getting an item or 2 from the PvP stuff. And some repair bills ofc!

And you don't need resilience at 60.
