[:1]just wanna know if there's a tier that's acually better for beginners than others.
i hear a lot about 19 twinks, so im guessing that's not the best tier to enter.
so... 19, 29, 39, 49, 59?
my purpose is mainly to get a pvp weapon for level 70, and get enough marks for each of the three bg's to get the level 60 land mount.
im going to do this on a server where im not a twink, and i'll probably buy most of my gear from the AH.|||29 is fine.
There's some twinks, but it's not nearly as bad as 19.
You could even the odds a bit by doing some instances and getting decent gear from there. Then add a few lowby enchants (stuff like +5 stamina or so is cheap enough) and you'll be competitive as is. Fiery weapon runs for a few gold as well and will help you level faster when you decide to go as well.
However... things vary from battlegroup to battlegroup. If *your* side has a lot of twinks and the other side doesn't , it makes getting marks that much easier. And don't forget to check for the daily BG quest @ Battlemasters in major cities. They're worth a fair bit of experience, money and some honour.
If you're after a PvP *weapon* you'll have to be doing BGs @ 60-69 or 70. Most of those (if not all) require EotS marks.
As a hint - check your Battlegroup forums for "20-29 twinks!" threads or something similar. That'll give you an idea. If the 20-29 isn't getting started or nowhere in sight and the 40-49 one is on its 5th full thread... Well, yea.|||awesome! im thinking 19 is bad, as is 59 since i am guessing there's a load of outland gear that seem to be level 58 and 59 wearable.
and you're right, i think a lot of the level 70 gear requires EoTS marks, so i'll have to farm those when i get there. but otherwise, greens and maybe some blues for either the 29, 39, or 49 tiers would work. i kinda just thought about that and figured that the 59's will have too much good stuff. i may be mistaken.
i'll have to look at the official forums now i guess... *sigh*
its not that bad is it? i've been there once to check on a problem logging in, but thats my only experience with the official forums.|||Quote:

Well... *you* can buy all those outlands greens too ;)
I did with my li'l gnome.
And the official forums can be bad. Lots of whining. Some of it is already and occasionally you find what you're looking for.|||true.... very true!
well now im thinking of aiming for the 39 bracket because, i already have a druid in the works, and well, most classes dont have speed buffs. this will help in those capture the flag scenarios. but... how often will people even be interest in capping a flag? i keep hearing that people just stand around and try to get honor kills instead of capping a flag to win the match. well i'll try the 39 out.
is there anything i'll need to know about this bracket?
should i look out for + stamina gear primarily?
does the spider belt (frees you from immobolizations) share the same cooldown as the Insignia of the Horde/Alliance trinket?
and does the Swift boots increase run speed when in travel/cat form too? same question for swiftness potions.
sorry lotsa questions now that i just decided on a bracket. lol|||The lvl 30-39 bracket is actually a good idea. more people are usually focused on grinding and getting their mounts so i havent seen much in the way of twinks though like Aerath said, that might be something to check out. Plus ive noticed that there are not as many people playing bgs during that lvl range (at least on the NA RpPvp servers). 40-49 i noticed was really agressive and went both ways so thats a good bracket if your interested in some heavy duty fighting. Ive never played on any other type of server than an rppvp so im not sure what the others are like bg wise.|||awesomeness! thanks Deathinmotion.
im trying to find the right bracket that's not too popular. i've never done bg's before and so im thinking of doing the "easier" brackets first. once i get the hang of it, i'll probably make some permanent twinks on various brackets. but for right now, im really just aiming on learning the whole bg thing, get a feel for all the maps, get the tokens/honor i need for the mount, and then split.
my toon will actually be horde on ravenholdt, which is an rppvp server.|||Then I guess ill see ya sometime, my char is horde on lightninghoof. i hope you like it and that it helps you get a good feel for the bgs. learning the basics (bgs arnt really that hard at all) is a breeze, but if you want to be an expert you just gotta play and observe. theres really not much to it except to either figure out what needs to be covered and protected or what they are leaving open, or who they have on flag and weather to go tunnel or ramp to get it. watch out for turtles though, or the long drawn out bgs where both sides are defending. the only thing you get out of those is kills, they arnt worth the time tho if its an hour long and you either lose or are only getting a few kills and the 3 marks....or a zerg where they all come and kill you to get the flag or get the base resource.|||i see. so zerg > turtle.
i'll make sure of that. are we in the same battlegroup?|||My battlegroup is shadowburn and I have two main chars i use who are opposite factions in the same group
Horde char is murlocofdoom lvl 45 rogue on lightninghoof
and
Alliance char is bloodmino lvl 58 hunter on emerald dream
i looked it up on the armory and Ravenholdts current battlegroup in whirlwind so we probably will not actually see each other in the bgs. i do have friends on that server who just joined WoW and i might end up making a char there soon anyway, just depends if they decide to stay or move servers.
