Ruin - so named, as it only has four (yes four) servers attached to it.
If you check any stats on that battlegroup, you'll find we horde suck horribly at AV. Put that down to map, bad play or whatever, but thats the truth ;)
Well, last night, a rare thing happened - we won!!!
Not a clean win, mind you, the Dun baldar bunkers were still up, and we hadnt even taken SP, but a win is a win. Heres the story...
Game starts, and as usual loads rush up to try to take SP (or so it seems).
One is left in our base (yep - usual horde zerg - game over for horde...).
A rarity occurs, some go to Galv - to keep him alive. Then more, then more..
Before I know it, Im at Galv with about 12 people.
Allies come, and we wipe em. They come again, we wipe them again.
They do this two/three times, then flag all our towers, and our base hut has been flagged for capture. At this point I think - game over....
Horde now rush down and retake IB tower, and head to base.
Tower point falls.
Then a miraculous thing. Horde all go in with Drek and STAY there!!!!!
No slogging it out outside, with allies having GY, they STAY inside!!
Allies try to take Drek, theres at least 15 horde inside.
We wiped them out about 20 times, and win on reinforcements ;)
Ok - not elegant, but for us AV starved hordes on Ruin - bloody good game ;)))

(Apparently, when Alliance wins all of the time it's great. When Horde do, the battleground must be broken. )|||Quote:

Despite it being a small battlegroup (4 servers), theres rarely a queue.
I think thats because:-
Allies - virtually guaranteed win on this group, so always queueing.
Horde - Quick loss = honour (hate this idea myself).
If allies play other battlegrounds the stories not quite so good for them.
Did a Eots where there was 14 allies, 6 horde (went up to 14 all after about 3 mins) - we still won ;)

I do well enough on Ruin. That is, when I'm one of the few people that actually defends.|||What got to me on Ruin was the Arena matches. You knew that you were likely to face the same team in most of your matches… and if that happened to be a Warlock/Priest combo *shudders*.
But we did win around 70% of the av’s while I was there. But that was before the patch. Things might have changed.|||Quote:

Yes but my point is - how many horde actually defend.
IVe spent game after game trying to coax 3 or 4 MIN to defend, without success :)
Maybe, just maybe, people are beginning to realise that a Zerg to SP doesnt really work much :)

Alliance does tend to win AV. But the Horde dominates AB, WSG, and EOTS.

Cool. I've won typically 2/5 AV's on my Horde character (Xlorep) while I've had about the opposite on my Alliance character (Sorlina). But, the Horde seems to win 9/10 times on any of the others.|||The pain i went thru in Alliance AV in Bloodlust to get my 30 marks...god....i think we won MAYBE 6 times.....*shudders* so Horde dont always lose. ; P|||Quote:

I think you missed that he said "EU Ruin", Xlorep -- it is correct that the European Ruin battlegroup has only four realms (see here). It's the main reason I've avoided Scarshield Legion like the plague, despite its reportedly nice community.|||Would the author of this topic be able to used the (paid) transfer feature to move to a realm in a battlegroup with more realms or would he be forced into one of the other 3 realms in that group?
