Holy Priest in AV

Over the weekend my priest hit lvl 51, so I decided to take a trip there to complete some quests.

After two rounds. I ended up with the most honorable kills and only died 1 or two times.

Basically, I would stay back and heal tank and others and hit psychic scream to clear out mobs.

I've never run my priest through battlegrounds, so I had no idea what to expect.

So, is it typical that a healer would be at the top of the charts at the end of each BG?

Thanks

But to answer you question, the best thing YOU can do is stay with the mob and heal, especially at 51. When your higher level you can consider going Shadow but, it would benefit you more IMO if your JUST talking about AV to stay holy.|||I'll be honest, I haven't usually checked honor kills in AV, but I'm betting I'm up there. Since you get credit for helping kill people, as a healer, you are generally helping a lot of people kill the opposite side, it's not hard to rack up the honor kills. I was also often able to top the healing chart, even when I was one of the lower levels. Of course, that doesn't mean much if you aren't healing the right people. I've topped the healing in WSGs just from the renews I would cast on myself to top off after rebuffing fort.

Then again, in AB, I'll often be pretty low down on all of the charts, since I tend to be on defense somewhere, and I can do more to help the team that way than by trying to get a bunch of honor kills.

Honestly, for the most part, I've stopped looking at the charts at the end beyond checking out the bonus honor.

Also keep in mind that when you get a smarter group of opponents, you will go down quickly. If they see a low level squishy healing, you can expect to get most of your healing done in angel-form. For that reason alone I try to make sure that I'm positioned well so when the inevitable stunlock takes hold, I still get 15 seconds of healing in. I really need better PvP gear.

Of course, if you really want to have fun healing AV, you can do what my friend does. He takes his prot pally in to heal and then laughs when the other team tries to kill the healer.|||AV is a slightly different story from the other BGs imo.

I have a disc/holy priest as well and I've had most kills a few times too. But AV is rather linear with some choke points where sometimes 90% of the battle can take place (noticably the road to SP GY). I heal until oom, drink and go back. Melee types don't have a lot of survivability in these kinds of battles and DPS casters have to be in casting range while you can heal safely from far away. So 0 deaths, 200+ kills and 200,000+ healing is no exception when the battle goes like that.

The other BGs are different, it's more "open" so enemies can move around and attack you. As healer I never topped the sheets in any other BG than AV.
