I just started doing battlegrounds. I entered Eye of the Storm and we were all awaiting the battle (in the bubble thing). Suddenly I see this:
"Player X-Blackhand has reported you for being AFK, please type /afk confirm to contest the status"
Another player must have recieved the same message as he typed "I'm not typing /afk :P"
Unfortunately, being the newbie to BG's that I am, I typed it as I thought the message was a standard Blizzard message and (of course, silly me) I went AFK, left the battleground and received a message that I couldn't enter any battlegrounds again for (I think) 15 minutes.
What was this player trying to do. I'll know better now. It was just frustrating.
I play BG's to win... not to go AFK. And, be reminded, that the battle had still not even started.
Can anyone explain this? Thanks in advance.
Max.|||Blizz never has you confirm anything through slash commands. Remember get me once shame on you, get me twice shame on me.|||Quote:

I thought after that he was just being a jerk (and of course, I was fooled... but "I won't get fooled again"). Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.|||Just a typical asshat. Don't worry, if you really do play to win (like I do), You will get frustrated by the "a fast loss is better than a long win" crowd you will run into in....oh.... about 90% of the bg's you enter.|||Lol.. Quite funny actually.. He just typed..
/e has reported you for being AFK, please type /afk confirm to contest the status
Meaning he just makes an emote that can be seen by everyone near :P
And as soon as you write /afk you get kicked out of the bg and get Deserter debuff, so you cant enter another in 15 min :)|||Fell for /exit in another game once, and /kill iirc :p|||Some people do that to get lowbies out of the bg. I encountered someone who spammed it just to be "funny." I called him out in chat. It's like a mage casting a portal inside a lock's healthstone summon. Nasty joke that isn't very funny.
